Winners of the 6th International Awards

Saint-Gobain Gypse ‘Plaster’ Award: S.O.E Stuc et Staff for the LCL Paris branch, France

The company S.O.E Stuc et Staff won the votes of the international jury for the renovation of the main staircase of a Crédit Lyonnais building located on the Champs-Elysées and its magnificent stucco marble and stucco stone cladding.

Twelve to fifteen people (renovators, plasterers, stuccoers, sanders, etc.) built a stairwell from scratch between the ground floor and first floor, extending an existing structure. They recreated the walls in sprayed plaster and then the century-old décor with staff cornices, wall panels and skirting boards in marble stucco and stone stucco. This was a true restoration and composition project that required meticulous attention to detail and artistic flair, drawing on ancestral techniques dating back to Egypt and Mesopotamia, which are now only mastered by a handful of craftsmen in France!
